Volunteering:

What will I gain?
Volunteering can be a great way to meet like-minded people who share the same enthusiasm as you for good food and a healthy planet.
Being a volunteer will also be an interesting way of getting to know about how we work and at the same time learn new skills and gain valuable experience.

Strengthen your CV
Volunteering with us can help you to get a foot on the career ladder or help you to get back to work after a career break.

Volunteering award
Our volunteering award recognises Soil Association volunteers who have made a difference, been an inspiration to others and have showed a real commitment to the cause.

How do I get involved?
We’d love to hear from you but can’t promise a volunteer post. Some times are busier than others like during the Soil Association Organic Fortnight. We may need to call you at short notice, so the more local you are the better.

Our volunteering opportunities are advertised on our website. Bookmark this page and keep an eye out for opportunities that interest you.

Work placements and internships
We are in the process of setting up schemes. Please be patient.

Equal Opportunities
The Soil Association supports the principle of equal opportunities in employment.

Volunteering Opportunities:

Marketing team volunteers
Bristol

Soil Association Organic Fortnight is the biggest event in the organic calendar. Working alongside the Marketing Manager you will help businesses get involved with the awareness campaign by managing enquiries and sending out packs of campaign materials.

The role is open to those who are keen on an administrative volunteer opportunity and also to those wishing to break into marketing. It offers a great chance to be involved in the Soil Association's biggest marketing campaign of the year.

We are looking for a number of volunteers to help us from 14th July until 15th September and we can be flexible on the amount of days you can offer.

Your skills and experience should include:

  • Previous experience of using Microsoft packages and databases
  • Excellent administration skills
  • Professional and personable
You will benefit from:
  • Local travel expenses will be re-imbursed
  • Up to £5 per day for lunch
  • Free entry to the Soil Association Organic Festival
  • Free membership to the Soil Association (for those volunteering for 1 month)
  • A relaxed and professional environment
To apply send CV and covering letter to recruitment@soilassociation.org with details of your availability.
Volunteer models

We are looking for all sorts of people to model for photo shoots at farms, events, cafes and restaurants. Our highest demand is for people local to the Bristol area but all UK areas would be useful. If you can volunteer your spare time to model for a half day or whole day and help represent Soil Association's work, please send an email to Yael Hodder at images@soilassociation.org with your name, contact details, age, availability and physical description - or better still attach a portrait photo. We can pay expenses for travel and lunch and would try to ensure an interesting experience. We look forward to hearing from you.
