Soil Association Organic Food Festival 2008
Bristol, 6-7 September 2008, Saturday 10am-6pm, Sunday 10am-5pm

Festival goers at the 2007 Festival

To kick off this year's Soil Association Organic Fortnight, we are delighted to be hosting the Soil Association Organic Food Festival, 6-7 September 2008. The Festival, Europe's largest celebration of all things organic, is sponsored again this year by Yeo Valley Organic. Set in Bristol's famous harbourside, the Festival spans the areas of Millennium Square, Anchor Square and the Amphitheatre area; all great locations for creating a genuine, traditional festival feel.

Now in its eighth year, with over 300 companies represented, the Festival incorporates bustling food markets, the very best organic food, drink, fashion, skincare and homeware products, a green planet pavilion, demonstration kitchen, talks programme, food cruises around the harbour, and an arts and entertainment fringe that includes food demonstrations, children's activities, music and street theatre!

New for 2008!
For 2008, we aim to increase the vibe of the Festival and provide more on-site entertainment and things to do so visitors have more to see, hear, try and buy, with the newest attraction being our 'grow your own' organic gardening feature, where you will be able to pick up useful tips and advice, as well as:

  • The 'Food for Life' Partnership Cooking Bus – a great opportunity to encourage healthy eating and food safety messages to school children in an engaging way
  • More seating and eating areas for visitors
  • An improved layout to assist visitor flow throughout the Festival sites
  • Food trails and competitions
  • Interactive 'exhibitor led' food demonstrations
Head for the Soil Association hub and find out fab facts about organic to wow your friends and family! We will be talking to visitors about our work, so helping more and more people to understand the direct link between the food, beauty and clothing that they buy and how these relate to organic and sustainable farming practices.
